Lidia Bеlyasin

Moscow, Russia
Lidia was born in Baku but lived in Azerbaijan, Israel and Russia, where she's currently based.

She started drawing from a very early age and in Azerbaijan, she did an apprenticeship with a well-known local artist, Arif Aziz, after which she moved to Siberia where she graduated from art school.

Following his art degree, she entered the Art College of Karatanov and then moved to Moscow where she took drawing lessons from various private teachers.

In the beginning, she painted in a more classical style and switched to a new style called "Cosmism" after a several years break from painting.

In her work, the artist tries to convey her attitude in life and her worldview, which includes the universal connection between everything that exists —the unity of the Cosmos and humanity as a single organism—, to portray the richness and beauty of the boundless and invisible spiritual life that surrounds and permeates each of us.

Lidia uses tempera and oil to create her art, depending on the colour and saturation she wants to achieve. Sometimes she mixes both techniques in the same artwork. She paints on paper and canvas, often glued to a rigid base such as hardboard or wood to support the piece strongly and safely.

She's exhibited her work in some collective exhibitions of cosmist artists both in Moscow and throughout Russia.

Her paintings are permanently exhibited in the Nicholas Roerich Museum in Moscow (ICR).

Lidia also studied music and played in a music band herself, and has created logos and album covers for different music bands.
